Edible Mushrooms and their Toxic Counterparts
September 24, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Location: 6820 Lyndon B Johnson Fwy, Dallas, TX 75240 (Suite 3200)
Date/Time: Semptember 24th, 10am-12:30pm
Description: Join NTMA President Sebastian Tabibi as he gives a presentation on some of the most common edible mushrooms along with their similar looking toxic counterparts!
Sebastian will cover over 40 edible and poisonous mushrooms with a particular emphasis on species found locally within the North Texas region! Fungi can look very similar to each other with some being choice edibles and others being seriously toxic. This lecture is designed for attendees to differentiate macroscopic qualities in order to properly identify edible vs toxic mushrooms!
Along with pointing out the macroscopic differences between species, the class will also include what time of year you can find said mushrooms, their specific ecological roles and the natural habitats to find them in! Don’t miss out on our first class ever covering edible & toxic fungi!
