Description: The North Texas Mycological Association is proud to collaborate with children’s author, Melany Kahn, to host a youth oriented foray with an emphasis on teaching mycology to kids!

For our monthly foray conducted in September, we will be meeting at the gazebo inside Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area, or LLELA. Melany will be presenting her new children’s book “Mason Goes Mushrooming” to our club, as well as leading our youth into a foray and teaching them about mushroom identification and edibility! Along with the kids foray, NTMA President Sebastian Tabibi will be leading the adults without children into another group and afterwards we will meet to discuss the specimens found!

After our specimen walk through, Melany will be demonstrating how to cook foraged mushrooms and will be hosting a taste test session to attendees! This event is FREE and limited to 75 tickets, please only reserve a ticket if you are confident you will be there!

This first-of-its kind foraging story, Mason Goes Mushrooming takes us on a woodland treasure hunt.
